Research ethics and academic integrity are the basic moral standards that research workers should follow, offering fundamental protection for academic exchanges, higher academic standards, research progress and innovation. There is a growing trend towards ‘zero tolerance’ of academic misconduct both in China and abroad. It is therefore necessary for us to have a systematic and comprehensive understanding of relevant ethical and moral norms to avoid violations or suspected violations when carrying out scientific experiments and publishing research results.
