About the Grant
Medjaden has been growing rapidly over the past decade thanks to the trust and support of our clients. To show our appreciation to our clients and to help young researchers publish their work, Medjaden established the “Publishing Grant for Young Scientists” in 2010. This grant opportunity is designed to encourage and support students (undergraduates and graduate students) and young scientists in Mainland China in publishing top-quality biomedical papers in SCI journals. As of December 2023, the Medjaden Publishing Grant for Young Scientists had supported 421 authors, with a funding total of RMB781964.05.
Criteria for Applicants
1. The applicant must have a complete manuscript in English that is deemed to contain novel ideas and likely to be published upon assessment by Medjaden editors.
2. The applicant must be the first author and a graduate student, aged 35 years or younger, and have never received any support from Medjaden.
3. The first author and the corresponding author must have a financial hardship in making full payment for the editing service fee.
4. The maximum amount of the scholarship is equivalent to the full amount of the standard service fee and submission service fee.

Application Procedures
1. The applicant and corresponding author (if the applicant is not the corresponding author) must complete and sign the application form.
2. The application form must be signed by the head of the applicant’s research department or the director of the department, and stamped with the official seal of the research department.
3. Electronic versions of the required documents must be submitted, including the application form, assessment report of the manuscript for which the grant will be used, and a copy of proof of age (such as ID card, student card, or work permit).
4. The electronic version of the application form and scanned copies of related documents should be sent to medjadenacademic@gmail.com. If approved, the applicant must provide a hard copy of each document.
In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has unexpectedly and rapidly reached all parts of the world. To promote progress in basic and clinical research related to COVID-19, Medjaden launched the COVID-19 Special Grant for assisting our fellow researchers in publishing and disseminating their COVID-19–related scientific research achievements. Through June 2020, this grant program had sponsored more than 300 researchers, with a total funding amount of RMB415379.545.
About the Grant
To help young researchers attend academic conferences and strengthen their communication and cooperation with experts in their fields, Medjaden established the Academic Conference Grant for Young Scientists, which is designed to help Chinese graduate students and young scientists to attend conferences where they can share their ideas and research with international scholars. As of December 2023, the Medjaden Academic Conference Grant for Young Scientists had successfully supported 20 youth scholars in attending academic conferences in China or abroad, with a total funding amount of RMB86000.00.
Criteria for Applicants
1. The applicant must have an abstract that has been accepted as an oral presentation or a poster by a Chinese or international academic conference.
2. The applicant must be the first author and the conference presenter, aged 35 years or younger, and have never received any form of support from Medjaden.
3. The amount of the scholarship is decided by the conference location (in China or abroad) and size.

About the Grant
Since its inception in 2005, Medjaden has always been committed to helping scholars from non-native English-speaking countries, especially from Mainland China, to present their latest research in international journals. To encourage and support graduate students and young scientists to design better research studies and perform quality experiments,Medjaden founded the "Research Grant for Young Scientists", as part of our effort to further fulfill our commitment and meet our social responsibilities. As a seed grant designed to encourage and support young scientists, the grant aims to support all basic and clinical research projects in any biomedical science field.
We hope that with the help of the grant, young Chinese scientists can pursue their research ideas, enhance their research capacity, gain key experiences in research, and be better prepared to apply for high-level grants, such as those from the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
Through 2023, the Medjaden Research Grant for Young Scientists had awarded a total of RMB1007000.00 in funding to recipients.
Criteria for Applicants
1. The study design (basic/clinical) for the proposed research must be original, feasible, and likely to produce significant results.
2. The first author of the (basic/clinical) study must be aged 35 years or younger and have never received support in any form from Medjaden.
3. The maximum amount of funding available is RMB25000/project.

Application Procedures

2. The application form must be signed by the applicant as well as the director of the applicant’s research department and stamped with the official seal of the research department.
3. Both printed and electronic versions of the application form, the applicant’s resume both in Chinese and English, and a copy of proof of age (such as ID card, student card, or work permit) should be submitted. All the above information will be kept strictly confidential by Medjaden.

Acceptance and Review Procedures
1. The grant application period is open from November 1 to November 30 every year (both electronic and printed versions of the application documents should be filed during this period).
2. The Academic Department of Medjaden initially screens the format of all application documents and announces the preliminary results in mid-December. Applications that pass the preliminary review will be further reviewed by the panel of experts on the Medjaden Academic and Research Grant Management Committee.
3. In February or March of the following year, Medjaden will announce the final winners and transfer the grant funds to the applicants’ institutions.
To support the development of education and provide practical assistance for academically outstanding graduate students who have financial difficulties in completing their studies in Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science & Technology, Medjaden has partnered with the Tongji Medical College Overseas Alumni Association (TJMCOAA) to jointly launch the Medjaden-Tongji Medical College Overseas Alumni Association Biomedical Postgraduate Scholarship ( Medjaden-TJMCOAA Scholarship).
As of December 2023, the Medjaden-TJMCOAA Scholarship program had supported 40 students.
Applicants must be full-time, first-year master’s degree and doctoral degree candidates of Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science & Technology.
1. Medjaden provides RMB15000 per year in funding for the program. The program supports five graduate students annually (including two master’s degree candidates and three doctoral degree candidates), each of whom receives RMB3000.
2. Medjaden and Tongji Medical College jointly present certificates and scholarships to student recipients.
3. Scholarship recipients and other short-listed candidates are given preference when applying for part-time jobs, internships, or full-time jobs with Medjaden. Recipients can also apply for a one-time reimbursement of travel expenses for going home during the Spring Festival holidays (applicable only to train tickets, excluding soft berth tickets or high-speed rail tickets).
4. The scholarship application period is open from October 1 to October 31 every year.
1. Applicants must have excellent academic records and motivation, with good character.
2. Applicants must be from a family with financial need.
3. Preference is given to orphaned or disabled students, students from families of martyrs, or students whose parents are incapacitated.
4. Applicants must be recommended by their department/school.
1. Failed one or more courses in college or graduate school;
2. Committed fraud and other academic misconduct in academic research;
3. Received any disciplinary action in school;
4. Provided false information or materials during the application process.
