Dr. Xu graduated from Princeton University with a PhD degree in biochemistry.
She carried out postdoctoral research at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) before entering the pharmaceutical industry in the U.S. in 1997 as a researcher in drug development. She has worked in the drug development departments of Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS), Roche, Tanabe, and Amylin as the principal scientist and project leader in cell biology and biochemistry. She has published 15 papers in internationally renowned journals.
